The Planetary Stewardship Project

Advancing global cooperation for the sustainable management and preservation of Earth’s systems.

Planetary Stewardship

Planetary Stewardship refers to humanity’s ethical responsibility to protect and sustain the Earth’s biosphere. It emphasizes sustainability, global ecological balance, interdependence, and proactive governance to maintain life-supporting systems.

Humanism

Humanism is a philosophical stance that emphasizes human dignity, rationality, ethics, and the value of human agency. It supports universal rights, education, science, and secular moral development.

Ecological Humanism

Ecological Humanism integrates the values of Humanism with an ecological worldview. It extends ethical concern to non-human life and ecosystems while maintaining the importance of human dignity and responsibility. It advocates for a balance between human development and ecological integrity.

The Planetary Stewardship Project is a non-profit initiative dedicated to improving our world’s ecological health and social well-being by networking a multidisciplinary, culturally diverse team of collaborators devoted to synergistically advancing a new paradigm of “Ecological Humanism.”

While the Planetary Stewardship Project aims to inform and inspire the peoples of the world by clearly describing the many interrelated challenges we face, its principal objective is to formulate and initiate actionable strategies that progressively and simultaneously resolve multiple problems rather than merely identifying individual symptoms and reiterating them.
